While discussion about the surfeit of lawsuits in the American legal system tends to focus on (frequently distorted) anecdotes about individuals suing corporations in product liability cases, most of the expenses from litigation come from businesses suing other businesses. But it’s very unlikely that the Monsanto verdict will become a tale about a BILLION DOLLAR VERDICT (over a product the patent infringer never even took to market!) that proves we need patent reform.
