Abigail Nussbaum

Abigail Nussbaum is a blogger and critic. She started her blog, Asking the Wrong Questions, in 2005, where she continues to write about books, film, TV, and other culture, usually but not always with an emphasis on science fiction and fantasy. She was the reviews editor for the SFF magazine Strange Horizons between 2011 and 2014. Her writing has appeared there and in the Los Angeles Review of Books, The Guardian, and The New Scientist. She has been nominated for the British Science Fiction Award for non-fiction writing, and won the Hugo award for Best Fan Writer in 2017.

Abigail joined LGM in 2018 as a contributor focusing mainly on pop culture. Her LGM posts can be found here. Her series, A Political History of the Future, which focuses on the way that science fiction addresses issues relating to politics, sociology, and labor, can be found here.

In August 2024, Briardene Books will publish Abigail’s first collection of reviews, Track Changes: Selected Reviews. The collection is available for pre-order, in paperback and ebook, at the Briardene shop, and will be launched at the 2024 Worldcon in Glasgow, Scotland.

Abigail lives in Israel and works as a software engineer in Tel Aviv. She’s on twitter as NussbaumAbigail. She is currently working on a book of selected reviews from Briardene Books.
