Another day, another man announcing that he is shocked – and saddened – to discover that the days of harassing women he works with are coming to an end. For now.
“During this period, I did pursue relationships with women that I worked with, including some junior to me,” Halperin said in a statement to CNN Wednesday night. “I now understand from these accounts that my behavior was inappropriate and caused others pain. For that, I am deeply sorry and I apologize.”
Based on the allegations that have emerged, his idea of pursuing a relationship ranges from repeatedly propositioning women to groping women. But for some reason that I can’t quite put my finger on at the moment, Halperin just now realized that this wasn’t very much fun for the objects of his attention.
“Under the circumstances, I’m going to take a step back from my day-to-day work while I properly deal with this situation.”
I don’t know what this means, or what he wants people to think it means. However, I suggest complete isolation from civilized people and hourly applications of one of these devices to the dangly bits for the next four years.
Update: LoL indeed. (Click on the image to read the short, sad saga.)

Update 2: Cillizza continues to fail to address his Halperin problem. Sound le Trombone du Tristesse.
