Frank Robinson RIP

The great baseball player Frank Robinson has died. Robinson was the first man to win the Most Valuable Player award in both major leagues. He was also the first black MLB manager.
A story about how a child’s mind works: When I first became a baseball fan around 1970 at the age of ten, I would watch Robinson’s team, the Baltimore Orioles, play my hometown team, the Detroit Tigers, on TV. Baltimore’s other big star was Brooks Robinson. I remember being fascinated by the question of how two brothers could be different races.
