Buried in the latest story about members of the Problem Solvers [sic with extreme prejudice] Caucus being shocked, SHOCKED to discover that No Labels is just a self-serving grift/Republican ratfucking outfit is this detail:

The pushback from some of No Labels’ natural allies adds to the recent turmoil the group has faced. It lost its top communications adviser Mark Halperin earlier this spring and has been roiled by internal staff turmoil.

If you’re going to be a make-work project for the worst Republicans-without-the-courage-of-their-convictions in American politics, might as well go all the way!

At least Halperin was gracious on the way out:

Two people familiar with the situation said Halperin, who is no longer listed as an employee on the group’s website, had been unhappy with No Labels and had begun to bristle at the office culture there.

“He didn’t like the fact that his career had reached the point where he was running the digital team for Nancy Jacobson,” said one former No Labels employee who worked closely with him.

The brutal truth is that even Nancy Jacobson’s floating RADICAL CENTRIST vanity campaign is too good of a gig for Halperin. But he’s one of those guys who will always find some way of getting paid.
