Melania, The Movie!
A brief note: It is perfectly normal to despise Melania Trump. But if you can’t express your distaste without being a sexist shithead go to one of the millions of online spaces where being a sexist shithead is acceptable and do it there. Do not do it in the comments here.
From the same geniuses that brought you a lavish Great Gatsby-themed party during a government shutdown and on the eve of millions of people losing their SNAP benefits, comes a documentary about Melania Trump one month after ACA subsidies expire and on the eve of another government shutdown.
The trailer for the Amazon MGM Studios’ doc, which was made with Melania Trump’s participation and follows her during the 20 days leading up to the 2025 Presidential Inauguration, was released last week. The spot opens with the first lady in the U.S. Capitol rotunda on her husband’s second inauguration day as U.S. President, turning to the camera to say: “Here we go again.”
Bleah.
You can find the trailer in the linked article, but don’t blame me if some of your brain cells claw their way out of your ears to escape. I watched it with the sound off and it reminded me of those early music videos that involve a woman emoting glamorous glamorosity. And that might be because the director got his start directing music videos.
As for the director: From the geniuses that brought you an adjudicated rapist who bragged about sexually assaulting women, walking in on naked girls and is up to his ears in the Epstein scandal for president (twice), it’s Brett Ratner.
This will be his first movie since the accusations of sexual harassment and assault piled up too high to ignore. Ratner’s involvement might explain why Smallfingers was babbling about a new Rush Hour movie a while back. Perhaps he’s showing solidarity with the other sex creeps, but he’s probably just hoping for a cameo.
