Carl Levin, RIP

UNITED STATES – JUNE 07: Sen. Carl Levin (D-MI) speaks on counterfeit auto parts while holding spark plug wires, which were produced in China, during testimony before the US-China Economic and Security Review Commission in Washington, D.C., Wednesday, June 7, 2006. One of the true liberal lions of the last 40 years has died.

There were issues that Levin didn’t do the right thing on that got attention here. But for the most part, Levin was a real leader on progressive measures over the years, not a super loud senator and not a guy seeking the limelight all the time. Rather, he was a solid working senator, especially noted for his work trying to hold corporations accountable as the New Gilded Age came upon us. He will be missed. Let us all wear our glasses low on our nose in honor of him.
