Talk, It’s Only Talk

Other than my daily history post (in fact, quite time consuming to prepare), I have been pretty silent from the blog over the last two weeks. This largely has to do with the fact that I am committed to four relatively short writing projects to be completed over the summer. It is August 8, school starts in four weeks, I start my own research trip in less than two weeks, and I have completed…..one of the four. So I am scrambling!
I am however giving a public lecture on Sunday in Lawrence, Massachusetts if you are around and interested. I’ll be talking about the strikes book but really talking about the labor movement today and how the past helps us understand what to do and where to go, with more attention paid to the famed Bread and Roses strike than I would usually give in such an event.
Anyway, it’s at 2 pm at the Lawrence Heritage State Park, 1 Jackson Street.
