Crooks on crooks on crooks

Add another Republican with ties to DJT to the “Crook” list. The latest entry — that I’m aware of anyway — is Ed Henry, former member of the Alabama House of Representatives who ripped off the government from the outside and in a way that couldn’t be spun as reducing waste.
On Thursday, May 2, 2019, William “Ed” Henry, 48, of Hartselle, Alabama, was sentenced to two years’ probation for aiding and abetting the theft of government property. He was also ordered to pay a fine of $4,000.00, announced United States Attorney Louis V. Franklin, Sr.

Henry’s sentencing hearing followed a January hearing during which Henry pleaded guilty to one count of theft of government property. The count stemmed from Henry’s helping Sanchez and other physicians in obtaining Medicare reimbursements to which the doctors were not entitled.
If Henry’s name rings a bell for people outside of the region it may be that they remember him as a staunch defender of Roy Moore, who said Moore’s accusers should be prosecuted.
In true Republican fashion, while he was involved in a criminal enterprise, he was busy making people root for injuries by poking at the planks in the eyes of Gov. Robert Bentley and Majority Leader Micky Hammon.
It’s almost like the GOP attracts criminals who then tell everyone else that they’re criminals by accusing everyone else of being criminals.
Henry won’t get jail time. That’s a shame but there’s still hope he’ll get in trouble while on probation. Barring that, maybe he’ll run into Bentley and Hammon, and there will just happen to be a lot of heavy chains and baseball bats lying around.
