Things getting even hotter.  Pakistan claims to have shot down two Indian aircraft, India acknowledges the loss of one but claims that it shot down a Pakistani plane in response.  At least one of the Indian fighters was a MiG-21, and India claims the Pakistani plane was a J-7 (Chinese MiG-21 clone). Other sources suggest that the Pakistani plane may have been a JF-17 Thunder, which is a Sino-Pakistani update of the MiG-21.  For those interested, here’s a profile I wrote of the MiG-21 a few years back.

Let’s hope cooler heads prevail, but social media is increasing the audience costs substantially, and may push all of this in the wrong direction.
