Not Quite a “Mass” Shooting…

This happened in Lexington on Sunday…
Two people were killed and three others, including a Kentucky State trooper, were injured Sunday in a pair of shootings involving one suspect at Blue Grass Airport and a church in Lexington. The trooper was shot at the airport, and four people were shot about 16 miles away at Richmond Road Baptist Church. Police also shot and killed the suspect at the church. Parts of Old Richmond Road were blocked off as police investigated a shooting at a Lexington church Sunday afternoon. Ryan Hermens [email protected] The incident began around 11:30 a.m., when a trooper tried to pull over the suspect. The suspect shot the trooper on Terminal Drive, outside the airport, and fled, police said. The trooper suffered serious injuries but was stable Sunday afternoon. A Kentucky State Police trooper was shot at the Blue Grass Airport Sunday, according to police. KSP is investigating. The suspect fled to a church on Richmond Road and is dead. The suspect then went to Belleau Wood Drive, where he carjacked a vehicle and drove to Richmond Road Baptist Church, in the 5800 block of Old Richmond Road. He shot and killed two women and shot and injured two men at the church. The women were identified by Fayette County Coroner Gary Ginn as Beverly Gumm, 72, and Christina Combs, 32. Ginn said the church is small, and most of the members are related or have been friends for years. One of the injured men is in critical condition, and one is stable, Lexington Police Chief Lawrence Weathers said in a news conference Sunday afternoon. Several people were shot inside the Old Richmond Road Baptist Church Sunday afternoon.

Here’s what we know so far about Guy House:
House had a long criminal history of mostly drug crimes. But a recent girlfriend filed for a domestic violence restraining order against him this summer. Court documents say he had begun menacing her in recent months, including threatening to get her fired and continuously keeping track of her location. When she broke things off with him July 4, he stole her car, driver’s license and several guns, she said. In the restraining order, the woman wrote that she did not feel safe in her home, and House was armed and dangerous. House was ordered to remain more than 500 feet away from his ex-girlfriend, and a hearing was scheduled for Monday morning. Guy House’s history House was convicted of at least seven previous crimes before Sunday’s spree. Most recently, House was sentenced by Fayette Circuit Judge Julie Goodman in early 2023 to two years of probation for possession of a firearm, first-degree fleeing/evading police and auto theft, among other charges House violated his probation, though, testing positive for drugs several times. He was referred for a substance abuse assessment with a social service clinician twice after the failed drug tests, according to court documents. The assessment led to a referral for an outpatient treatment program at the Addiction Recovery Center. Court documents say House was discharged from the program Nov. 6, 2024, for noncompliance. House also absconded and failed to report to his probation officer, leading the officer to file a request to have his probation revoked and a warrant be issued for his arrest. Court documents say House was arrested for his probation violation on Dec. 11, 2024. In a document submitted to the court before his revocation hearing, House’s attorney, Chad Butcher, said House completed drug court, a condition of his probation, in record time and believed he was released from probation. However, House still had an outstanding balance of restitution and court fees from his previous criminal cases, according to court documents. House admitted to the error and added that experiences outside of drug court led to a relapse and lack of communication with his probation officer. House enrolled in a program at Recovery Works and contacted Butcher to resolve his probation violations, court documents say. He went on to pay off more than $2,000 of restitution. In January of this year, he was freed from probation. In House’s personal life, he had at least three children and was an aspiring rapper with the stage name “HonKyKong.” There is a video on Lex Lanta’s YouTube page featuring House performing one of his tracks, “Struggle Made Me.” The video has generated more than 18,000 views. House’s Facebook page also has more than 9,000 followers.
He appeared in videos wearing what right wing cranks have identified as a Palestinian keffiyeh, and so the fever swamps of the Right are already declaring this to be Palestinian terrorism. On those domestic violence charges:
House had taken her driver’s license, gone through her phone to see who she was calling, checked to see if she was at work, and stalked her at a neighborhood pool. He was angry at her, the woman said in a phone interview with the Herald-Leader, and angry at a past partner who had blocked him from seeing his daughter. The Herald-Leader does not typically name victims of domestic violence. On July 4, the woman told him everything was over. He then broke into her house, stole her two firearms and her car. She called the police and filed an emergency protective order. The hearing was scheduled for July 14. But on July 13, House apparently snapped. He shot a police officer who pulled him over, police said, then drove to Richmond Road Baptist Church, where his former partner and her family attended. The former partner wasn’t there, but he shot and killed her mother and sister, and injured her father and another man.
Yeppers… inability to dominate the women in his life causes bro to snap and kill a bunch of people. First time we’ve heard that particular story?
