Laurene Powell Jobs’s effective tax rate is way too low
It is amazing that, in the year 2026, a particularly shameless hack can still scam a free trip to Martha’s Vineyard from an editor with no remaining quality control mechanism by pretending that this is news:

In fairness, however inadvertently the article does contain a great moment in comedy:

The fact that people hate Alan Dershowitz because he’s a huge asshole who supports Trump is “topical” because, uh, Trump is still president and people still don’t like a pedophile who killed himself 7 years ago. Please sign my expense reports! At least the Atlantic didn’t send six reporters to file four stories about this highly uninteresting subject. Yet.
As a palate cleanser, let us remember what I still think is the greatest Chotiner interview ever:
It’s part of a pattern. I was the most popular speaker in the Chilmark Library series.
I can imagine.
Every year, they would have an overflow crowd to hear me speak about whatever book I was writing, or whatever I was doing. But suddenly, after I represented the Constitution on behalf of President Trump, the library found excuses for never having me. Their first excuse was that my crowds were too big. So I said, “Well, why don’t you limit the crowds?” They said, “Oh, we hadn’t thought of that.”
Can you imagine if Ed Sullivan had done that with the Beatles? It’s a ridiculous excuse.
