There was a time when Aaron Rodgers had a reputation in the media is the “smart, interesting quarterback.” Granted, most white football players are complete chuds, but while Rodgers might be slightly different than most of them, he sure as hell isn’t smarter, as he’s proven repeatedly since he started opening his trap about everything around the time of the pandemic. Well, not only is he an anti-vaxxer extraordinaire, he’s also just a first-rate scumbag by any reasonable definition:

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback and future first-ballot Pro Football Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers has preached the importance of protecting his privacy when it comes to his personal life and what goes on off the field. It appears that sentiment isn’t necessarily shared when it comes to fans wanting to have their own privacy throughout their daily lives.

According to a FOIABall report by David Covucci, Rodgers donated $37,000 to the town of Cedar Grove, New Jersey to help fund the implementation of license plate reader cameras (ALPR cameras) for the local police department back in 2024.

The Cedar Grove Police Department credited an anonymous, “very generous donation” to help buy the ALPR cameras for them to use. The money came from an LLC in Encinitas, California, with FOIAball discovering that Rodgers is the manager of the LLC.

It happened a few months after the Green Bay Packers traded Rodgers to the New York Jets, with the four-time NFL MVP moving into Cedar Grove after his arrival. Cedar Grove’s city council Flock-style cameras were “situated in various areas throughout the township” with an estimated 17 cameras meant to help law enforcement throughout the area.

Rodgers’ decision to fund the cameras, which have increasingly become a source of frustration among the general public for unwanted surveillance that spies on citizens regardless of whether or not they’re doing anything wrong, is notable considering his own public comments about a right to privacy.

During the 2021 NFL season, Rodgers told reporters he was “immunized” when asked about his COVID-19 vaccination status. The intent of his phrasing was to shield that he didn’t receive the vaccine, which was later exposed when he tested positive for the COVID-19 virus and missed the game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

I’m really shocked that Aaron Rodgers’ “right to privacy” means “my right to do whatever the fuck I want as a rich man in America.”
