Kentucky Primary Updates

Friend of the Blog and candidate for KY-6 Erin Petrey was profiled in Newsweek, along with her mom:
A Kentucky woman who voted for President Donald Trump three times has registered as a Democrat after becoming disillusioned with his administration, according to a viral social media post shared by her daughter.
Erin Petrey, 38, of Lexington, shared the post about her mother, Robin Russell, 69, saying the longtime Republican voter changed her political affiliation after a series of actions by the Trump administration that she found deeply troubling.
Petrey said her mother recently attended a “No Kings” protest—her first ever demonstration—and formally registered as a Democrat shortly afterward. Her post on Threads about her mom’s experience gained thousands of reactions from people online.
Throw Erin some love, plz. This is a winnable race and I think Lexington can sustain a progressive candidate. In other news, incumbent Thomas Massie leads Trump-sponsored challenger Ed Gallrein by 11 in the GOP primary. Trump has dedicated more attention to this race than just about anywhere else; he’d evidently rather have a disciplined GOP than a majority GOP. Or he just didn’t think about it at all. See here for a story on Massie from the Ohio side of the river; evidently Tom plays the banjo.
In other other news, we are unfortunately still having a Senate race. Here’s the polling:

And forgive me, but each of these ads is more disgusting than the last. Let me offer clear warning that all of these are potentially triggering, and if you don’t think you should watch them then you should probably trust your instincts. Because I watch local morning news I get to see all of them five or six times a day…
And here’s Andy’s response:
It’s so fucking gross.
