One of the two most influential people in the White House is literally asserting that the 1/6 insurrectionists received less due process than the people Trump is deporting to torture prisons without a hearing:
This is deranged. Jan. 6 defendants were repped by one of the best public defender offices in the U.S. They were more likely to be released pretrial & got comparatively light sentences. SCOTUS threw out a bunch of convictions, which almost never happens. They got gold-plated due process!

In authoritarian discourse, the more obvious the lie, the better — they need a discourse in which truth simply has no value on their team.
