Could anything make any real difference at this point?

Lots of buzz that an October surprise is about to drop about Trump, with plenty of warnings from his supporters to watch out for “deep fakes.”
I have no idea what this might be, but I do have trouble imagining what kind of story could possibly make more than the most marginal difference at this point. Of course in a close enough election, which we have every reason to think this one is, even the most marginal difference could prove decisive.
