Western Conference Game 3 Open Thread

Time for another NBA thread.
We all know Minnesota is well equipped to win on the road. They won at Denver 3 times. But going down 2-0 to the Mavericks at home is tough. First, while I despise Kyrie Irving, his handle is literally astounding and the way he set the tone in the first half of Game 1 really stood out. The Mavs have fed on that. Second, I thought this piece on Luka Doncic was perfect–he might be the best player in the game now and he’s only 25 and he’s a fat out of shape whiny asshole who loafs on defense. Third, Karl-Anthony Towns has come up real small in this series. Why the man doesn’t use his size to dominate more on the inside makes so many people shake their head and when he can’t shoot either, it’s hard for Minnesota. He and Anthony Edwards were a combined 9-33 in Game 2. You aren’t winning that way. And that’s after combining for 12-36 in Game 1. So I guess it’s not too hard to diagnose what Minnesota needs do to get back in this series. I do hope they get it together, just so we can get a 6 or 7 game series, regardless of who wins.
As for the Eastern Conference, boy did the Pacers blow it again. They leave it all out there on the floor, I grant them that. With Haliburton out, their role players like Nembhard and McConnell were great. But they just can’t close. That’s the second of three games in their grasp. Jaylen Brown is simply a stone cold guy. He had that great three at the end of Game 1 and played so great late in Game 3. That kind of a guy is a huge difference maker. So maybe Indiana can rally and win a game. But I doubt it.
There’s evidently some hockey going on too and we all know how much Lemieux loves the Oilers……..
