One thing about Biden is OLD coverage is that at least Biden is really old. The nearly uniformly hostile and fundamentally dishonest coverage of Biden’s decision to withdraw from the Blob’s comprehensively failed war in Afghanistan is something worse than that:

We had dramatically more scrutiny of the precise details of the evacuation than we did of the previous twenty years (!) of failed efforts to create an allied force capable of holding territory.

The real undelying premise of the coverage was to accept the Blob’s conviction that the US just needed to stay in Afghanistan for another 6 months in perpeutity. But because stating it outright would be unpopular, they arrived at this idea that there was a non-CHAOTIC way of withdrawing from Afghanistan — a country that had no functional central government after 20 years because the architects of the war had no idea how to build one and/or no interest in doing so and just lied their asses of about it — that Biden just failed to execute. There will never be an explanation of what that was, but trust me it’s out there.
The incentives of Biden getting a permanent hit to his popularity from this (with a significant faction of the alleged anti-war left giving him no credit for it either) are not great, particularly since it may well result in a second term for Trump because this is something the mainstream press remains very comfortable editorializing about from the pro-war perspective the Beltway accepts like breathing.
