Lots of goings on in re right wing criminal lunacy in my home state this morning:
A militia group planned to violently depose Michigan’s government and abduct Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D), the FBI said in a federal affidavit filed Thursday.
“Several members talked about murdering ‘tyrants’ or ‘taking’ a sitting governor,” an FBI agent wrote in the affidavit, obtained by the Detroit News. “The group decided they needed to increase their numbers and encouraged each other to talk to their neighbors and spread their message.”
Federal prosecutors plan to make a fuller statement on the alleged plot later Thursday, according to the newspaper.
At least six men have been charged in connection with the alleged plot, identified as Adam Fox, Barry Croft, Ty Garbin, Kaleb Franks, Daniel Harris and Brandon Caserta, according to the affidavit.
On the other hand two undergraduate Ethnic Studies majors in Ann Arbor complained that Tuna Hotdish is racist, so Andy Sullivan is calling it even.
Oh wait, the right wing goes in the lead again:
Two alleged right wing provocateurs accused of orchestrating a racist and inaccurate robocall campaign to dissuade people from voting surrendered to Michigan authorities Thursday morning, the Michigan attorney general announced in a news release.
Jacob Wohl, a 22-year-old Los Angeles resident, and Jack Burkman, a 54-year-old resident of Arlington, Virginia, were arraigned Thursday in the 36th District Court in Detroit. They pleaded not guilty on several felony charges related to allegations of voter intimidation and other election law violations.
Wait a sec, how are these arch-scumbags “alleged” right wing “provocateurs?” Alleged terrorists would be a lot fairer, although still too fair by half.
