  • I think this electorate is terrified and you can thank every person who blew off ’16 or “just couldn’t” vote for Clinton and Bernie deadender for that. Had Clinton won, we’d be much closer to revolution, if that’s your thing. She–much like her husband–wants to be liked and I think she would have been pretty susceptible to pressure from the left, on the heels of running the most progressive campaign (by the primary winner) in presidential history. Clinton would have moved us closer to progressive goals. Congratulations, we just moved way back.
  • Like I said, this electorate is terrified. That Bloomberg was outperforming WARREN in several states signals to me that people are grasping for any white daddy who will make Trump go away. Again, congrats to everyone who helped create this dynamic. A part of me thinks about this and gets angry at the voters and a part of me understands that we only have ourselves to blame for this. People are scared and they have every goddamn right to be. POC don’t trust white voters to do the right thing and who could blame for that?
  • Listening to PSA, I was shocked to learn that 27% of South Carolina voters polled said that James Clyburn’s endorsement “strongly” motivated them to vote for Biden. That is a stunning number. I guess endorsements do matter in times like these.
  • I think we may be stuck with Biden. I’m…ok…with this? I really hope he picks a younger progressive woman of color as his running mate. I also think that he should focus his campaign on “restoring decency and empathy” to the White House, because, frankly I think that’s his only strong suit, and I genuinely believe that his what his candidacy represents to many voters. It could be a winning message?
