The Northern Fur-Covered Claw Trap Holiday Dilemma

This is one of the many cats that live with my in laws. She’s waiting for some foolish biped to touch the trigger spots on her belly. (Note the look of deranged anticipation in her eyes.)

The dilemma: Having the skin ripped off an extremity would hurt, a lot. However, the pain would probably distract me from the fact that this is the Obamas’ last holiday season in the White House. Also, the fact that I really need to learn when to say no to buckeye balls. Oof. (Link to a recipe for buckeyes added. An authentic recipe includes paraffin wax – makes the chocolate shiny!)

I hope everyone is having a happy whatever, whether they’re surrounded by 32 bazillion sugar-powered tots with their volume set on Farewell My Eardrums or enjoying the peace that comes from being alone.
