Luttig Resigns
Michael Luttig, the arch-conservative 4CA judge whose exasperation with the Bush administration’s transparent attempts to avoid judicial review may have cost him a Supreme Court nomination, has resigned. It’s not actually terribly surprising; unlike being on the Supreme Court, being a Court of Appeals judge is a punishing job, and I’m sure that returning to the private sector must hold a great deal of appeal in these cases.
…like a commenter, iocaste contests my claim that being an appeals court judge is “punishing.” I’ll defer to their judgment.
