Barney Frank

Barney Frank was mostly a groundbreaking and pioneering congressman who happened to be gay and centered that in his public life. Dodd-Frank is one of the most important pieces of financial legislation in my lifetime. Coming out was a critically important point in showing that one could be gay and mainstream in America. He laid a lot of groundwork for the best of what America can be. It is unfortunate that he ended his life yelling about how Democrats had moved too far to the left and needed to become more moderate. That doesn’t take away from his accomplishments, but it is a little sour coming from a guy with his history. RIP.
