BOLD PREDICTION: Romney victorious!

[ 20 ] October 16, 2012 | SEK

The line of the night will be “I know you are but so am I!” But I can’t predict who’ll say it. Ha ha!

But we’ll have us no bitter “hoc voluerunt” because they really did want this. Unless Obama took notes during Biden’s epic battle, Romney will win tonight by becoming more-Obama-than-Obama … which will appeal to conservatives because they want to defeat Obama more than they believe in anything but beans.

BOLDER PREDICTION: Biden swoops in Superman-style for the win!

You can’t see those speed-lines, but they’re there.

  1. That’s hardly bold; the articles are already written. The only variable that remains is the font size for the headlines.

  2. Jim Harrison says:

The future’s kinda like a ball game. They play it because it doesn’t always turn out like you’d expect. That said, I’m also pessimistic about Obama’s performance, but my reason is slightly different than yours. I figure that Obama’s whole political existence is predicated on the dream of restoring amity to American politics. I just don’t believe he has it in him to do what is necessary, which is to fight instead of compromise. I do agree that Romney can move as far to the center as he likes: his real supporters will know he’s lying and will forgive, indeed applaud him, for having the balls to do wrong in a good cause.

    • The thing about Obama is he has a grasp of humor; for Romney it is an alien concept. Look at Obama’s self-disparaging after the last debate.

I am also pessimistic, but mainly because the media and spin machines are already working against him; but if he can drop a couple of decent, strong, humorous lines, it will be hurtful for Willard.

Myself, I am skipping it because who needs THAT; I will be drinking Cuba Zombres and working on some apartment plans….

Romney will win tonight by becoming more-Obama-than-Obama …

While Obama will lose by attempting earnestly to be (he suspects) more-Romney-than-Romney.

But hey, if he pulls it out, at least we can count on lower deficits and satisfactory CBO scores.

    Look forward, not backward!

i predict that, at some point during the debate, in a move as creepy as it is audatious, pres. obama will reach over, grab mitt romney by the shoulders, bite off his head and swallow it whole. thus putting the whole “we need a return to comity and bipartisanship” thing to rest, along with the rest of the election. hardcore progressives around the country will applaud the president’s firm stand against republican/tea party liars. candy crowley will wet herself.

  5. Thus far Obama’s doing well and Mitt’s looking dickish.

Thus far Obama’s doing well and Mitt’s looking dickish.

This situation is somewhat exacerbated by Mitt basically being a dick in the first place….

    • Cody says:

Being a giant dick is favorable among right-leaning individuals.

      Something to do with SMM.

  6. Janastas359 says:

Oh Sully, why do I keep going back to you:

Obama has owned the first half hour. This campaign is turning again.

Looking forward to tomorrow, when this debate is all the evidence we need that the Obama campaign is an unstoppable juggernaut.

    • laura says:

Yes, but that’s at least enjoyable as opposed to the last week of sky-s-falling, why-have-you-forsaken-me?

      • Janastas359 says:

Most definitely. After the liberal media sphere spent the first week hand-wringing over Obama’s performance, they spent the second week wondering why they had done so much hand-wringing and how that would affect the race.

I just want a good performance from the President so we don’t need to hear this again for another week, I’ll gladly take an optimistic Sully.
