This is what I've been up to for two of the last three weeks:
If only Senate elections were every two years:The new Q-Poll has Obama has crushing McCain 56 to 35 in Connecticut. No real surprise there. The same poll also finds that.
Best wishes to Brian Beutler for a speedy recovery.
John F. Kennedy, statement on the death of Ernest Hemingway, 2 July 1961:Few Americans have had a greater impact on the emotions and attitudes of the American people than Ernest.
Pathetic. (See also.) Wealthy people with excellent financial prospects and little debt get favorable treatement from banks? Fetch me the smelling salts!
To add to a point made by a couple of commenters, there's nothing remotely new about Democrats giving money to religious groups for secular purposes.
On the question bean raised below, I pretty much agree with the Great Sky-Blue Satan. As long as 1)religious organizations adhere to civil rights, civil service, and other government regulations.
Obama wants to expand the role of faith-based organizations in American public life.Maybe there is a lot of good to be said about this -- particularly in poor, religious communities.
