More glimpses into the madness of the man who would be a Reality TV World King:

On June 9, 2026, after the rehabilitation project was substantially complete, the U.S. Park
Police responded to an NPS report of damage to the reflecting pool, including a caulk
over the foam sealant that was cut with a sharp knife or razor and destruction of
delaminating surface material. In addition, approximately 70 fence post tops were
thrown into the pool.

June 24, 2026 affidavit from Deputy Director of Operations for the National Park Service Frank Lands.

Hmmm, very very suspicious indeed.

From a Facebook post on everyday home repairs, which provides directions for putting caulk on top of a foam sealant to create a more easily paintable surface:

Trim the foam: Use a serrated utility or snap-off knife to carefully slice away any foam that has expanded past the wall or trim line.

ETA: Commenter Encephalopath with an all-too plausible theory:

So the cut line in the liner that demented grandpa keeps talking about is a seam that the installers cut while putting in the liner.

Also too, the manufacturer behind the project is blaming the paint chunks floating around everywhere on “finish coat separation,” meaning their product was installed improperly.

Wake up Maggie, I think I have something to say to you: Could you please release the Inside Account of how a poorly done project by incompetent grifters morphed into Donald Trump’s 350-foot gash of a white whale sometime BEFORE the next big election?

Related: The NPS has posteda video, asking patriotic Americans to help identify a woman — let us dub her The Lady of the Reflecting Pool — who is seen kneeling down to touch the sacred waters. (Read the comments if you want a glimpse of the lunatics we’re dealing with in this country. although hopefully most of them are actually Russian bots. Wait I’m not sure that’s actually better).
