Arday Found Dead

Jason Arday, the former University of Cambridge professor, has been found dead, police have said.
Mr Arday was pronounced dead after being found “unresponsive” at an address in Battersea, south London, on Friday afternoon.
A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said officers were called by the London Ambulance Service at 3.12pm on Friday.
He said: “Sadly, a 41-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. His next-of-kin have been informed and are being supported by officers.
“At this time his death is being treated as unexpected, but is not believed to be suspicious. The case is being investigated by officers from the Met’s Central South Command Unit. A file will be prepared for the coroner.”
I’m assuming that means suicide. I have few useful words or thoughts; obviously he bore the lion’s share of the responsibility for what happened at Cambridge, but had the academic authorities on hand done their jobs in the first place the situation could have been arrested a long time ago. Add to that the racist attacks in the press, and I can understand why it seemed there was no way out.
