In the wake of the temporary renaming of the Kennedy Center and Richard Grenell’s threat to sue Chuck Redd for cancelling his performance, more artists have cancelled their performances at the Kennedy Center.
The canceled performances to date include shows previously promoted for Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve, Jan. 14 and April 24 and 25.
The Kennedy Center is sticking to the strategy of being the sort of obnoxious petulant clown who doesn’t understand basic concepts like consent. And who is putting on a show to soothe the feelings of the ultimate OPCWDUBCLC.
In a statement Saturday, Kennedy Center spokesperson Roma Daravi said, “Any artist cancelling their show at the Trump Kennedy Center over political differences isn’t courageous or principled—they are selfish, intolerant, and have failed to meet the basic duty of a public artist: to perform for all people.”
Since when? I reckon since their latest display of abject ass-kissing blew up in their faces by making it clearer that the ass-kissee is as popular as crab lice with normal people.
Recall that performers have been cancelling gigs at the Kennedy Center since his second term began. But now performers are staying away because his lackeys put his name is on it.
Telling performers they have a duty to perform won’t help with booking acts anyone wants to see. In part because it sounds like something a greedy fucker says when they try to get out of paying for a gig.
Maybe they can make Kid Rock the resident performer, like in a Vegas casino. The opening acts can be more Geneva Convention-violating crap with names like Twangy McTwangerson, The Auto-Tuned Cowboy from Austin, Texas.
