Why Would Liberals Watch the Charlie Kirk Reichstag Fire Event?

I was deeply confused yesterday by the open thread on Kirk’s funeral--not by the thread itself of course, but by the evidence from the comments that LGM readers WERE ACTUALLY WATCHING THIS. Why would you do that?

Like…..I was really flummoxed. Why would anyone do this? What possible good could come out of this for a liberal? I can not think of a single reason to do so. Not to mention that it was an NFL Sunday, but even if you aren’t a football person, you couldn’t do anything else in your life but watch a fascist funeral rally?

This relates back to my larger point about spending time online/in comments/doomscrolling instead of doing something useful. Anything useful. That could be for your personal self. Or it could be to fight Trump. Watching some like this is such an enormous negative on society and your soul that it made me legit concerned about folks who were watching this.

So if you watched it….why?
