I hate to do this because I don’t want to get Denverite the satisfaction, but there’s no question that Jokic is a god among basketball players and now he has his own New Yorker profile, which I grant you is not the highest honor of his career, but still. I can’t presently find my wife’s New Yorker log-in info, but you can read it if you want to bad enough. In any case, is there any question now that Jokic is the best player? Who are even the other candidates? Embiid, certainly, but he’s hurt too often. Giannis is really it. No disrespect to LeBron, but he’s clearly not the best player in the league in 2024, even if he might be all time.
Anyway, this is our weekly NBA open thread, which I am going to try and remember to do on Tuesdays. Tonight’s TNT games are Dallas-Brooklyn (meh) and Milwaukee-Phoenix, which should be good.
