SOUTH CHINA SEA (Nov. 4, 2021) The Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Lake Champlain (CG 57) transits the South China Sea, Nov. 4, 2021 (U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communication Specialist 1st Class Tyler R. Fraser).

Recently I recorded a podcast with Iain Ballantyne of Warship: International Fleet Review on the future of the US Navy (David Axe also participated). Cruisers were discussed, and also the ongoing disaster of the Littoral Combat Ship.

With respect to the LGM Podcast, things have been slow because of travel and end of the semester grading issues. It’s possible we’ll have another ep in 2022, but I’m not sure. There’ll be a couple of changes in 2023, including most notably the adoption of (hopefully halfway decent) transcription technology that will finally make transcripts available, and the inclusion of revenue-generating ads. The latter is necessary to pay for the former, but I think that the exchange will be well worth the hassle.
