This seems like a big deal.
The link is in Portuguese and Google Translate isn’t as helpful as you’d like, but this seems quite major. Here’s a WaPo piece on the shuffle yesterday which focused on the foreign minister rather than the defense minister. But to reiterate the lead, threats of resignation by military chiefs is a Big Fucking Deal, even if it doesn’t amount to a hard coup. All of this is happening against the backdrop of what has become the worst fumbling of the COVID pandemic anywhere in the world.
