This table lists candidates who have filed with the FEC to run for president. Some applicants use pseudonyms; candidate names and party affiliations are written as they appear on the FEC website on the date that they are initially filed with the FEC.
As of May 6, 2019, there are 718 candidates who filed to run, including:
245 Democratic candidates
89 Republican candidates
26 Libertarian candidates
14 Green candidates
Check the list, maybe someone you know is on there. Maybe you’re on there.
Here’s the 2016 list for comparison.
Some of the smaller parties represented in 2019 include the Silly Party — Tarquin Fin-tim-lin-bin-whin-bim-lim bus stop F’tang F’tang Ole Biscuitbarrel. The Communist Party with five candidates including Karen Deez Nuts, and the Right to Life Party with Suq Madiq as the lone candidate.
Perhaps one of the people on that list isn’t a candidate this year, but none sound sillier that “President Donald Trump.
