The Presidency of George W. Bush
Are we at LGM unfair to George W. Bush? I don’t think so. Yes, we’re critical, but that’s just because he’s the worst President of the United States since James Buchanan. However, never let it be said that we do not give credit where due.
As Erik points out, the Yankees have failed to win the World Series during George W. Bush’s presidency. His record on this issue is far, far stronger than that of Bill Clinton, who unaccountably allowed four separate Yankee World Series victories. Moreover, President Bush’s record is stronger than those of FDR (six Yankee championships), Harry Truman (five Yankee championships), John F. Kennedy (two Yankee championships), and Jimmy Carter (two Yankee championships).
And to be even more fair, a review of the evidence categorically demonstrates the superiority of Republican administrations on this crucial issue. The Yankees have won 19 titles under Democrats, and only seven under Republicans.
Fairness. Balance. LGM.
