I thought I was doing something very good for our Country by using Trump National Doral, in Miami, for hosting the G-7 Leaders. It is big, grand, on hundreds of acres, next to MIAMI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, has tremendous ballrooms & meeting rooms, and each delegation would have..
The internal superlative generator needs rebooting. As an aside, who the hell thinks that being right next to an airport is a bonus?
…..its own 50 to 70 unit building. Would set up better than other alternatives. I announced that I would be willing to do it at NO PROFIT or, if legally permissible, at ZERO COST to the USA. But, as usual, the Hostile Media & their Democrat Partners went CRAZY!
He was very concerned about keeping his emoluments legal. Really.
….Therefore, based on both Media & Democrat Crazed and Irrational Hostility, we will no longer consider Trump National Doral, Miami, as the Host Site for the G-7 in 2020. We will begin the search for another site, including the possibility of Camp David, immediately. Thank you!
Don’t ask for a refund if you booked a room in hopes of rubbing shoulders with real leaders. Thank you!
Glad to see he’s taking it so poorly. It remains to be seen whether the press goes out on a limb and chalks this up as a Democratic victory, but even if it doesn’t, we’ll know this is a win.
One thing that I feel is certain is that Mulvaney will be hitting the forget-my-sins-and-buy-my-book circuit before Thanksgiving. DT is going to blame someone for the fact that he had to say adieu to millions of dollars – which he’d probably already used to fund some other business disaster – and it sure as hell won’t be him.
Edit: Hit publish before including this quote from Mulvaney. It should echo in his head like cruel laughter for the rest of his life because it is going to get him tossed out of the shittiest White House cabinet in undead memory.
When he announced the pick of Doral, Mulvaney anticipated the blistering criticism that immediately ensued.
He said, “It was almost like they built this facility” to host the G-7, and said any concerns about the president profiting from the summit would be put to rest because the Doral would be offering its goods and services “at cost.”
Trump “doesn’t profit from being here, he has no interest in profiting from being here,” Mulvaney said.
However, Mulvaney did not detail how the “cost” of those goods and services would be determined.
This means the coming weeks will include another minion of the administration being publicly insulted by his boss, which is never not delightful.
It also means it would be irresponsible not to speculate on who will be the next head of OMB and next WH Chief of Staff.
I’m still expecting a major shift to bringing the administration all in the family. So if I were to place a bet, I’d put my money on Ivanka as CoS and the Innsmouth Boy who looks like a pimp from a Miami Vice-style B-movie as acting OMB director. The offspring can go under the bus as easily as someone who isn’t a relative, with the bonus that they’ll have to forgive him if they don’t want to be cut out of the will.
