Life’s been good to him so far

joe walsh

The other Joe Walsh is ready to go to war, assuming the war is going to be fought with 18th century weaponry, and/or remains one of those Twitter war things.

Unfortunately some of his more deranged followers may fail to think quite so metaphorically about the matter.

Bring your musket to Spokane, Joe. I got something for you.

    Fucking asshole.

    • Colin Day

May I assume that it outranges a musket? I’d hate for him to even have a shot at you.

      • tsam

I’ll have slapped him with 5 fishes by the time he loads that piece of shit.

        • efgoldman

I’ll have slapped him with 5 fishes by the time he loads that piece of shit.

First you have to lure him to Pike Place.

        • Colin Day

OK. Muskets are slow. Got it.

    • Captain Oblivious

Average reload time/rate of fire for a typical 18thC infantry musket = 20 seconds.

      Just sayin’…

      • tsam

I’ll have dropped a piano on his head by the time he loads that piece of shit.

        • That’s why FSM gave us trebuchets.

          • tsam

Oops–wrong comment to which this reply was replied or … whatever.

          • Captain Oblivious

That’s it — let’s chunk some punkins at him.

            • tsam

              Full of nails, yes.

      • JohnT

That’s the time for well trained infantry who had practiced lots of times. Double that and more if you haven’t practiced.

    • Ima guessing that “musket” is the diminutive or feminine form of “musk”, right?

      • tsam

I’ll have hosed him down with skunk pee by the time he loads that piece of shit.

      • DocAmazing

It’s actually short for “Muscatel”, as he plans to get trashed to kill the pain.

  • (((Malaclypse)))

I don’t have the twitter, but the obvious response to that is “You lie!”

    • tsam

Is the the “YOU LIE” guy? I thought that was someone else…

      • (((Malaclypse)))

        Fuck, it was Joe Wilson.

        • tsam

Those bigoted fucking crackers all look the same to me too. Like douchebags and fail.

I think this Joe is the “I ain’t paying child support, those kids are her problem” guy.

          • efgoldman

I think this Joe is the “I ain’t paying child support, those kids are her problem” guy.

Did he ever get bagged by the court? Or pay off? Because you know the courts in Illy noise are really strict about that shit….

If you get any kind of state aid.

If you’re a white guy in a nice suit and tie, maybe not so much.

[Turns out they settled. Story doesn’t say how much.]

        • Colin Day

And to think he used to be my representative (SC-02).

          • tsam

That’s OK–I’ve sad some doozies in my district WA-05. Most notably, Cathy McMorris-Rodgers. Hell, at least she had guts enough to never back off of Trump. No clue how she’s polling against her opponent, but I doubt she’ll lose.

    • fellenst

Best response I’ve seen so far from Lauren Duca:

“This is the worst masturbation euphemism ever.”

      • tsam

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Whoever that is, she rules.

    • brad

I told him to sell it to pay his child support.

      • hickes01

Ha! So did I. Great minds…

  • BiloSagdiyev

Phew! I guess my M-1 Garand with iron sights will be sufficient, then! That saved me some money.

  • McAllen

I highly encourage right-wingers to fight their revolution with Napoleon-era tactics. It’s what the Founding Fathers would have wanted!

His transformation into the Kirkland Brand Glenn Greenwald is complete!

    • “Former State Dept official”? In the mailroom, right?

  • Warren Terra

I think everyone assumed when he referred to his musket he meant his honorable member.

  • There are a number of sites selling muskrat plush.

  • trnc

“The other Joe Walsh is ready to go to war, …”

No, but he’s willing to incite violence from others while he curls up safely with the money he owes for child support.

  • Frank Wilhoit

A society that tolerates incitement demonstrates a depraved indifference to the lives and well-being of its citizens.

    • sharculese

o/t I feel bad everytime I see one of your posts because “Frank Wilhoit” always sounds like a Jenny name to me and I have to remind myself “no this dude is cool.”

      • Frank Wilhoit

You should see how some of my mail is addressed.

Anyhow, if I possess any coolness, it is in my music; go listen at broadheath dot com .

          oooooh, symphonies . .

        • Ahuitzotl

4th Symphony is very interesting. Will work on the rest :)

    • efgoldman

A society that tolerates incitement demonstrates a depraved indifference to the lives and well-being of its citizens.

Unfortunately, the line between incitement and free speech is a very fuzzy, and sometimes movable, one.

      • Derelict

Indeed. A conservative calling for people to literally take up arms against the United States government (or, as in the case of the Bundy bunch, actually taking up arms against the government) is simply an expression of political disagreement.

HOWEVER, a blogging history professor who uses the expression “head on a pike” is a clear and immediate threat to civil order and the stability of the Republic, and so must be silenced.

  • (((Hogan)))

For Mrs. Robbins life was the war of one against all; in this she was another Gertrude, a commonplace, conventional, jointed-hardwood Gertrude. (Yet her conception of this was that of a Hessian prince of the eighteenth century, while Gertrude’s was that of the director of some War of the Future, a war in which the inhabitants of the enemy country wake up some morning to find that they have all been dead a week.)

  • jim, some guy in iowa

I prefer to think of him- which is only when he shows up as the subject of a post here- as the Wrong Joe Walsh

  • Musashi

In the words of the good Joe Walsh, “Uh oh, here comes a flock of wah wahs.” What a douche

  • petesh

    Magnificent thread title

  • Captain Oblivious

    his more deranged followers

    He’s so popular —

    (1) His home station, WIND, cut his show back from 3 hours to 2.

    (2) WIND has an average audience share in the Chicago market of 1.7.

    (3) He’s “syndicated” on seven other stations (wow!), but buys the air time from them himself.

  • DonnaK

When these people talk about “Second Amendment remedies” they’re really talking about killing their fellow citizens for daring not to vote Republican. They don’t have a problem with government. They have a problem with democracy.

    • efgoldman

They don’t have a problem with government.

Clearly they do, since they either refuse to do it or do it incompetently.

      • SFAW

        Clearly they do,

Agreed. Although if they changed the word from “government” to “rulepeoplewedontlikement,” they’d be OK with that

    • Do you remember 8 years back, when voters were only supporting Obama because they were scared of the inevitable race war that would result from Obama’s defeat? They were scared that dark-skinned thugs would refuse to accept a democratic decision, and would rise up in revolt?

That was a popular talking SCREEEing point among the rightwing pundits, anyway, and surely they would not lie.

    • CP

The fact that the “Second Amendment remedies” crowd came out in force in the nineties only to go into hibernation the following decade even as the government granted itself the right to warrantless wiretapping, indefinite imprisonment, and torture, was a pretty clear indication that it was never about any broad and principled concern for government abuse.

  • Ethel2Tilly

    Live by violence
    Die by violence

Yet good guys like Allard Lowenstein are gone and this POS lives.

    Its just not fair.

    • SFAW

Yet good guys like Allard Lowenstein are gone

Wow. I haven’t heard his name for a long time. Wish he was still here.

PS: And I think it would be good humor if the Evil Joe Walsh had a mishap when cleaning his musket (not the euphemistical one). I also think he chose that word so that when the Secret Service (or FBI) had a chat with him, he’d say “Of course I was joking — who uses muskets?” etc.

  • Halloween Jack

The current governor of Illinois is a billionaire asshole who is perfectly willing to play chicken with the legislature over the budget because he is in no danger of suffering direct consequences of leaving critical state agencies unfunded, and he’s still not the worst person in my state, because of this gibbering clown. I’m proud to be able to vote for Tammy Duckworth for Senate, because she got this shitty-assed dickcheese out of Congress.

    • Bitter Scribe

I love how the governor recently posted a picture of his dog wearing a pink collar to Facebook with the caption, Even Fido supports the fight against breast cancer. Meanwhile, his stupid, petulant tantrum over the budget—which has nothing to do with budgetary issues, BTW—is keeping funding from organizations that do breast cancer screenings.

Hey, asshole, keep the pictures of the family pet to yourself and do your fucking job.

  • Dagmar

Euphemisms – metaphors – sarcasm. I’m lost in a linguistic fog generated by RWNJs.

  • Bitter Scribe

Joe. You were elected to one term as a Congressman due to the Tea Party craze. Once people found out what a weasel you are, they booted you out of Congress. Get over yourself.
