Feral Pigs

Feral pigs are expanding their range and will probably be across most of North America in the next 20 years. They cause a tremendous amount of damage, not only to farmers but to wildlife and habitat. It seems to me the logical solution is a 365 day hunting season against them. It’s a non-native species that reproduces like crazy. It would be cheap meat for people and do a service to other wildlife.

I realize not everyone would be comfortable with this, but humans already manage the entirety of the world environment, so we might as well admit this and try to keep feral pig populations under control to keep populations of other species at healthy levels.

I have trouble seeing a downside to this proposal.
