More on the Moderate, Reasonable, Electable Rick Perry

It might seem obvious that this man cannot win a major party nomination, and maybe he won’t. But it’s worth noting that we’re now being informed by a writer on the blog of the National Review‘s designated moderate that Perry’s view that the New Deal and most of the Great Society is unconstitutional is now “as mainstream of a conservative position on constitutional law as there is.” I will admit that I missed the precise moment at which Antonin Scalia started to be way too left-wing to count as a mainstream conservative, but apparently this is where we are now.
