Donald Trump is very concerned about fraud, so you should be too

The entire right wing ecosystem is in one of standard frenzies over welfare fraud by Somali immigrants in Minnesota.

Here are some things that Trump supporters appear to be completely indifferent towards:

(1) Trump pardoning numerous rich people in exchange for open bribes.

(2) An estimated $64 billion in fraud by “small businesses” if you know what I mean and I think you do, in the context of PPP loans during the pandemic.

(3) Commuting after a few months the 20-year prison sentence of a practitioner of Medicare fraud whose peculations by themselves dwarf everything that has even been alleged has taken place in Minnesota.

(4) Trump’s own “business” career prior to his entry into the political rackets was basically a series of frauds, enabled by non-stop abuse of the legal system.

I could go on and on but what would be the point?

The critical factors here, as always, are stupidity, hypocrisy, and racism.

But really . . . racism. You know how every other reactionary centrist spent years wringing his metaphorical hands about “the Left’s” obsession with how everything in American politics is ultimately about racism? That’s because that’s pretty much true a whole lot of the time. And the outrage over alleged fraud by Somali Americans could not possibly be a clearer illustration of this.
