In charge of everything, responsible for nothing

Every single fucking day it’s something like this:

A friend describes Trump thusly:

“He’s in charge of everything and responsible for nothing. Like a 12-year-old babysitter.”

(This seems somewhat unfair to 12-year-old babysitters, but it still made me laugh).

I did have a cheerful thought however, which this same friend, who is high up in the government finance world, helped confirm via data. The thought was that it would be completely characteristic of Trump to announce on social media that he’s imposing zillion percent tariffs on billions and billions of countries, while sending out Very Official Letters under his signature to this effect, while no one does any of the tedious and difficult work of actually imposing these tariffs at the point of entry, because of a combination of rampant bureaucratic laziness, incompetence, and Gandhi-like passive resistance in the service of the Plutocracy, which is the real God of a universe in which Trump remains but a malevolent and deficient demiurge. (The relevant data, per my friend, show that the tariffs actually collected to this point are nowhere close to what they were supposed to be, which fits nicely with this stupidity and laziness will semi-save the economy, maybe, theory).
