DHS lies about murder of Maine man don’t constitute justifiable homicide even if you choose to believe them

Apparently the available evidence is so bad that they’re going with this:

If you aren’t a gigantic fucking racist it might occur to you to ask how “ICE law enforcement” knew the young man they murdered was “an illegal alien,” since the man they shot wasn’t the person they were looking for. I bet Susan Collins’ brow is going to furrow quite a bit over that epistemological puzzler.
Not that it should matter under the circumstances, but the man murdered by ICE yesterday was a legal resident:
The Maine Immigrants’ Rights Coalition and advocacy group Presente! said the man who was killed had authorisation to work in the US.
More remarkably still, the excuse for shooting him is not even the standard “weaponized vehicle” lie, but the indescribably lame “fearing for public safety” lie. In other words, the claim here is that government agents have a right to shoot people they suspect of being “illegal aliens,” for no other reason than that such people are attempting to avoid being apprehended, without regard to where those agents have any legal right to apprehend them. That’s the public safety measure being taken here, according to the Trump administration’s own account of something that, as a strictly legal matter, the administration’s description characterizes unambiguously as an unjustifiable homicide.
Fascist scum need to be dealt with accordingly.
