A friend has some thoughts I wanted to pass on:
He is so genuinely dumb as to not know that oil is a commodity and even if we “have enough” and “have plenty to sell” that does not insulate American consumers from a global oil price shock.
But that aside, he’s got a choice. Take the L and make a deal that only the diehard rubes won’t clock as a huge strategic defeat. The strait will open. Oil prices will settle down in a few months. NATO is over, our allies hate us, Iran rearms, but the real US negatives are longterm, and when has he ever given a shit about that? That’s probably what he’s going to do, and what we should want him to do given the alternative, but it’s hard to be completely convinced right? He really is losing it mentally, increasingly disinhibited and erratic. Raging out with a nightmare warcrime of an escalation is entirely possible. And when gas hits $8/gallon he’ll panic and stop, because he can’t handle the red numbers glaring at him on the friend box.
Then complicating it all is that Jared is negotiating for the US while being a Saudi employee. And Netanyahu knows how to play Trump into extending the war.

Trump is now attacking the Pope for being weak on crime.

Perhaps recent convert JD Vance can explicate the finer points of Catholic doctrine to Leo.
