NFL Open Thread, de facto beginning of the playoffs edition

For those who need to briefly focus on something other than [waves frantically], we have a two Major Playoff Implication Day Saturday. The surreally officiated Tampa Bay win means their playoff fate will rest with the Saints tomorrow, giving us another meaningful game. The nightcap is not a literal play-in game, but it’s not only a great rivalry but since it’s for the #1 seed hugely important — I can see both the Seahawks and 49ers getting to the Super Bowl with 2 home wins, but I really don’t see either of them surviving three games on the road. If I were wagering actual money I would go with the models and the Trent Williams injury and take the Seahawks -2.5, but as a fan I can’t say I’m overwhelmingly confident. But it should be fun, and we could use some.
