Obviously many events of the real world and sporting variety to discuss. On the latter, let us honor the latest example of the fact that small samples aren’t reliable and sometimes players aren’t “clutch” until they are. Anyway, 346 yards, 3 TDs, and zero interceptions later I personally would not trade Sam Darnold for JJ McCarthy, but good luck to the Vikings next year!
Three more notes: 1)Kudos to Macdonald and Kubiak for playing to win the game on the last Seattle drive rather than running into the line and handing the ball back to the Rams on a day their defense was getting routinely torched as Brady was urging, although it worked because Darnold executed; 2)Devon Witherspoon breaking up the 3rd and 4th down passes on the last Rams drive that felt like a touchdown from the second it started should not be forgotten; and 3)thank God that “refs are the center of the universe” taunting penalty did not ultimately affect the outcome of the game.
