The piano goes today, and the cats and I go by the end of the week.
I’ve set up my new laptop so I can post during the move, but I will be plenty busy for a while.
We returned to the dance of the seven tariffs this week. Trump would like to make it possible for as many heads of state as possible to come crawling, but they seem have figured him out. “Figured out” only in the broadest sense. What he actually wants out of this, besides the bullying, is not at all clear.
Lawsuit by doctors against RFK Jr’s vaccine denial to all of us. Good.
Eliot Higgins of Bellingcat observes a split in MAGA. He doesn’t consider that those who feel betrayed will return to Trump admiration, but history suggests that is the most likely. Thread:
This split has been opening over the week, with conflict between Pam Bondi and Dan Bongino, along with possibly Kash Patel. Don’t ask me to describe the nature of the conflict. I have seen no clear description, and the varions MAGAs all seem to have their own idiosyncratic reasons.
