The Podcast Election
Many of you may have read about our changing media landscape, but in case you haven’t or just want a little refresher on the subject, I highly recommend the Fast Politics segment about Trump reaching out to various podcast bros and YouTubers.
TL:DR young men are absolutely swimming in a sea of grievance mongering and misinformation.— DeathCar (@lovebethandrobots.bsky.social) January 27, 2025 at 10:03 AM
Funniest thing about the podcast was the part where they say these young listeners are very “anti-war.” Which is interesting because I’m not sure how that squares with the whole “we used to be warriors” ethos. Babies, you can still be one! Especially with your boy starting conflicts everywhere!

A lot has been made of how people are increasingly getting their “news” from non-traditional sources. I, myself, increasingly listen to more left/liberal podcasts. It’s not like the left (at least the center-left/normie left/NeverTrump) is not represented on YouTube. There’s the Meidas Touch network, Crooked Media (which produces Pod Save America and Hysteria, in addition to several other lib/left pods), Bryan Tyler Cohen, The Bulwark, David Pakman, Pondering Politics, Hal Sparks, and Stephanie Miller. And honestly that’s just the tip of the iceberg. This stuff is out there. I don’t know if it’s being swamped by right-wing content or if people are simply in their information silos, so the presence of the liberal content doesn’t really make a difference. Thoughts?
