Wackface, blackface, perhaps lay off the smack face?

I saw a cropped version of this photo yesterday and thought someone had been messing around with Photoshop. Not only had he failed to blend his foundation so that the side of his face and ear weren’t so obvious, but his foundation is noticeably darker than usual. More burnt beyond recognition orange than orange. I also doubted it was real because it too-neatly confirmed my theory that he would resort to using darker foundation in a weird attempt to appeal to Black voters.

So I spent some time searching for the original before I found my way to Sen. Cornyn’s xitter account. I was briefly surprised that a fellow traveler posted a picture that makes him look so goofy, but then I remembered that a white man who looks like he smooshed his face into a shallow bowl of peanut butter seems perfectly normal to to the GOP.

At any rate, it’s Sunday, Oct.13, and Republicans have stacked the deck to the extent that it is all too likely that this deeply ridiculous person will return to the White House this January. How is your weekend going?
