He was a complicated man with a complicated legacy, and it’s alright to have complicated feelings about his passing. An inner circle Hall of Famer who played too long and never, in the end, made the Hall of Fame. Ten year old me is terribly saddened by his passing; fifty year old me is fascinated by his legacy.
