The impact of fash propaganda
This is an excellent response by Biden to Trump’s lies about the administration’s response to Irene, for exactly the reason cited by Filipkowski:
Biden makes a great point. The most despicable part of Trump’s lies is that he is making the victims think nobody is going to help them and causing them more pain and stress with his lies. He’s the worst human being to ever serve as president. https://t.co/agi9c0ui0h— Ron Filipkowski (@RonFilipkowski) September 30, 2024
Trump doesn’t care about the victims at all, and on some level everybody who isn’t in his cult knows this, but as Paul said earlier a lot of people feel compelled to pretend to pretend because of what telling the truth means.
Trump is what he is, but it’s also infuriating to see people on the nominal left pretend to believe that amplifying fascist misinformation is good, actually:

Accepting Donald Trump’s grotesque falsehoods about how FEMA is responding to Irene at face value does not strike me as a very effective strategy to advance the rights of Palestinians, personally.
