Civil War/Apple Cup

One way to look at the 128th Civil War and the 116th Apple Cup simultaneous kickoffs is that this is the first time, as far as I know, that all four teams have been undefeated going into the games. Of course, this is also the first time that the rivalry games have been played in Week 3! I think it’s awfully appropriate that the two kickoffs ended up being simultaneous, and I hope that the rivalries can be made to continue despite the death of the Pac-12. As for the games themselves… I share Erik’s skepticism about the Ducks thus far, and (for you compulsive types that just have to bet) the Oregon State +550 at home looks pretty good. I hope to be proved wrong on that, though. I haven’t watched Washington at all and have only seen part of one Cougars game, but I’ll just say that Washington -6 at home does not suggest much confidence on the part of the gambling community about the Huskies this year.
Let this serve as an open thread for the Civil War, the Apple Cup, and whatever college football you might be inclined to discuss this afternoon. Go Ducks! Go…. I dunno, one or another of the Washington teams. Cougars, I guess?
